This engine mount is engineered for Mercedes-Benz T1 series (601/602) light commercial vehicles and serves as a left/right universal fitment, simplifying stock management for workshops. Five interchangeable OE references confirm fitment across box van, bus, and flatbed/chassis body variants of both the 601 and 602 series.
The T1 platform's inline diesel and petrol engines generate significant low-frequency torque pulses during urban stop-start operation. The mount's rubber element isolates these pulses from the body, reducing fatigue on chassis welds and minimising vibration reaching the driver. Failed mounts allow excessive engine movement, causing intake and exhaust flex joint damage and accelerating alternator and power steering pump bracket fatigue.
