This engine mount supports the powertrain in a wide range of Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class models, occupying the crossmember-side mounting position. Sharing part geometry with transmission mount LJ-316, this engine mount reflects the consistent chassis architecture across the W203/W204 and W210/W211/W212 generations.

The mount is a consumable component in workshop practice: as engine hours accumulate, the rubber element progressively hardens and micro-cracks, reducing its ability to damp the high-frequency vibrations generated by the M272/M273 V6/V8 and the M156 AMG engine. For AMG variants, where engine output is significantly elevated, the mount is subject to greater peak stress and typically reaches the end of its service life at lower mileage than on standard models.
